Oh my god. We really do need to meet in person one day. I guarantee your blog, your raw and unabashed truth telling, is validating and helpful for so many people - myself included! Thank you. ❤️

That touches my heart, Rose!I am writing this with exactly what you said in mind. It’s my hope that others can relate and gain some insight and comfort from it. I do hope we can meet in person, 🌹

Definitely your most vulnerable piece.. I agree 100%. A transparent window into the absolute ground floor of suffering, and I don’t mean that in a victim kind of way, but in an “ ok the adrenaline of the situation has worn off and this is what I’m left with. Who all is still there ?”

THIS RIGHT HERE :

that resilience is a beautiful thing, but its roots lie in the deep down authentic embodied emotions that make us vulnerable and human.

I love you to the moon.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

“I’m suddenly sick of protecting everyone from my experience.”

That sentence alone carries so much truth. So many of us learned to be brave and charming as a way to survive loss, pain, disability, trauma, and to keep other people comfortable. This piece captures the cost of that beautifully and painfully. The compassion you offer your younger self at the end feels like the real act of resilience here.

Those saved journals are such a treasure! It took bravery for you to look back and revisit the deep emotions of the past. Is it part of aging that we find the inner strength to shed the masks? You are such an inspiration to me. You are teaching me about authenticity with every story you share. Thank you for the shout out to my Substack. I am deeply touched. 🥰❤️

I love that you used the word community. That's exactly what this feels like.

Such a powerful and vulnerable piece, Elizabeth. It hits home as I learn about balance from a new perspective.

These are the stories that gift both validation and hope and the same time. Thank you. Saving it for another read, as it is deserving of such.

Thanks so much, Stephanie. I have been thinking about you and have been hoping your healing is going well.! Typing my private journal entries onto the Substack page was more difficult than I thought. I'm glad I pushed myself to do it. I hope what I wrote will resonate with those who need to know that vulnerability, anger, despair and isolation are all normal ways to feel when faced with adversity.
